I never planned on becoming a realtor, but the seed was planted years ago, that showed me just how life-changing real estate could be.

Growing up, real estate shaped my understanding of security in ways I didn’t fully appreciate until much later. My parents owned a handful of rental properties, and as the 3rd of eight kids, I was used to helping maintain them. I’ll never forget the day my dad was laid off. With a family that large and my dad as the sole provider, it was the rental income that kept us afloat. Watching real estate carry our family through one of our hardest seasons left a deep impression on me. I saw, firsthand, the power of having something stable to fall back on.

But I never imagined I’d become a REALTOR®. Back then, I thought I knew what I wanted to do: become a doctor. I went to college, studied pre-med, and even interned in a biology lab—only to realize I hated it. I finished my biology degree and was open to whatever possibilities were available to me. I also became a mother to my daughter, Amira, right after graduating.

On a whim, I tried law school and I didn’t resonate with the content as much as I thought I would. In order to support me and my daughter, I needed to work full time which isn’t possible while going to law school. This is where my journey in sales began.

Thankfully, I discovered that I genuinely enjoyed sales. After selling cars for two years, I landed a job at a local newspaper.  It was while working in their advertising department that I discovered my love for digital marketing. The internet was exploding at the time, and digital marketing felt like an open frontier. I earned my master’s in internet marketing and went on to manage online sales for several companies. It was an exciting era-building websites and expanding digital services. For more than ten years, I poured myself into that world.

Everything changed in late 2019, when I went into the hospital for a routine procedure. I caught an infection and ended up staying for multiple weeks.

I was released from the hospital in January 2020 but had a long road to recovery. Since the world was essentially shut down due to COVID, this gave me a unique opportunity. During this recovery, I reevaluated my career choices and remembered what happened with my dad when he was laid off. After 25 years at the same company, he was able to remain financially steady because of real estate. That memory sparked something in me. I knew exactly what I would do next: get my real estate license.

It took three years of determination to transition into being a full-time REALTOR®, but it was absolutely worth it. I love this work—guiding clients through negotiations, helping them navigate big decisions, and celebrating with them as we cross the finish line together. There’s nothing like handing someone the keys to a new chapter.

In 2021, Charles and I got married, and Amira is now a grown woman building her own life. Outside of real estate, I love cycling, cooking, traveling, and serving on the praise team at my church.

Looking back, I’m grateful for this career that gives me purpose. I get to help other families find the same sense of security that shaped my own.

I excel at working with first-time homebuyers because patience truly is one of my strengths—something clients consistently mention. I’m comfortable guiding them step-by-step, answering every question, and offering support that feels both professional and reassuring. I respect my clients’ time, so I make communication a priority; I answer my phone, call back promptly, and ensure they are taken care of.

I spend time getting to know each client personally, understanding what matters to them, and building a relationship rooted in trust. I also stay up-to-date on the market and industry best practices because I see myself as a student of my craft—always learning and always aiming to be a valuable resource. My goal is to equip clients with the information they need to make confident, informed decisions. I help them focus on their original goals and needs, ensuring every choice is rational and aligned with what matters to them.

Sincerely,
